Guy Babusek is a certified Master Teacher with the Institute for Vocal Advancement. Guy Babusek has trained with April Thronson, Helen McComas, Dennis Parnell, Susan Skadron, Andy Boettner, Dave Stroud, Michael Goodrich, Florence Riggs and was a pupil of Seth Riggs from 1997 to 2013. Guy’s performance experience includes opera, oratorio, recital, cabaret, pop, rock and musical theater.
As a composer and songwriter, Guy has written over 50 songs, composed music for 10 ballets, several modern dance projects and arranged backing vocals and numerous choral pieces for productions and recording projects. He is in constant demand as a private voice teacher as well as in recording studios as a vocal producer, coach and consultant.
His vocal studio in Orange County includes singers of opera, lieder, oratorio, popular music, musical theater, R&B, jazz, country, folk and rock music. Since Guy specializes in vocal technique, rather than style coaching, singers of all styles of music benefit from his instruction.
Guy has been a member in good standing of the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) since 2009.
Emo has been playing and creating music since he was nine years old. He is self-taught and began with the piano, progressing to the bass then the guitar. Shannon is known for making learning engaging and a positive experience for her students. She found her love for performing at a young age while singing, acting, and dancing in community theater. Shannon attended the Orange County School of the Arts (OCSA) for high school, and went on to study at the TISCH musical theater program at New York University. In addition, she has trained under Guy Babusek for several years where she grew in her passion for the art of singing. As a performer, Shannon has appeared professionally in New York and LA. Some of her favorite performances have been at the Lincoln Center, the Hollywood Bowl, and singing the national anthem at Dodger Stadium. Shannon currently teaches theater and directs musicals throughout the Fullerton school district.
Katie Majors is a prominent Vocal Trainer/Coach working in the Los Angeles and Orange County areas. Katie grew up doing professional musical theater and sang with the Pacific Chorale Children’s Chorus for many years, working under famous conductors such as Carl St. Clair and John Alexander in regular performances at the Performing Arts Center and Irvine Meadows Amphitheater. She first studied private voice under Jan Ritschel, and was chosen to sing on a children’s CD with one of Jan’s Broadway famous students, Susan Egan (Original Belle on Broadway, voice of Meg from Disney’s Hercules).
In her teenage years, she began working with Fullerton and Downey Civic Light Operas and local Dinner Theaters. Favorite roles include Anybodys (West Side Story), Zaneeta Shinn (The Music Man) and Belladova (Phantom). After working in parades and shows for Disney, she finally decided to follow in the footsteps of her father and try her hand at rock and pop music, and for several years played in bands in the Hollywood and Orange county areas. Venues include The Whiskey A Go GO and The Rainbow Room.
While playing in the LA, and OC music scene, she began studying voice under Seth Riggs and his associates, and more extensively under celebrity vocal coach/analyst James Lugo of American Idol and Vocal Asylum in Hollywood. Katie later went on to work on her degree in Music Education at Cal State Fullerton, putting herself through school by playing weekly gigs in a classic rock duo at Captain Jacks in Sunset Beach.
During her time at CSUF, Katie found a new love for classical music and opera, and was chosen to be in the touring choral groups University Singers and Chamber choir, under Dr. Rob Istad of the Pacific Choral. She has been teaching voice for 7 years now. She vocally trains many students from APA and OCSA and coaches vocalists from the OC and LA music scene including members of the pop group Ajuku Girls, Chris Faris of The Devious Means (Best Indie Band OC Music Awards 2014), Kaycee Carpenter (2017 Winner, Voice of Signal Hill), Casey Snyder of the Hindu Pirates, and up and coming artist Timmy Milner (Fall Risk). She musically directs for Theater Companies and High Schools while also continuing to work on her own music and performances.
